I have been buying Ford cars for 16 years (my dad worked for Ford for over 35 years). There was a point I lost faith in Ford and the sales reps. The process was long and drawn out. There was a lot of pressure to buy, making me feel guilty if I didn't buy. I felt like I had to wheel and deal and play the waiting game or put one dealer against another. So, for a while, I bought Toyota cars because they provided better service. I decided to give Ford another shot and called Keim Ford out of the blue and started talking to Ken Peltz, a sales rep there. Two cars later in a matter of 2 months, we are proud owners of a Ford Fusion and Ford Explorer. We couldn't be happier. More importantly, Ken restored faith in what sales is all about. In mid June (around the 9th) I was traveling in my Buick Rendezvous from Philadelphia to St. Louis when my change oil light came on just as I was pulling into the nearby hotel for the evening. The next morning I went to the dealership wondering if they would service a non-Ford car. To my amazement I met the most wonderful group of men who were happy to help me. During the conversation while writing up the service order, the gentleman who waited on me identified he was a Steelers fan to which I replied I had previously lived in the Pittsburgh area. Overhearing, the other gentleman (Pete Harper judging from website photos) made the joke for Steelers fans the wait would be a week since this is Bengals country. This laughing and joking certainly made a positive impression on me. When Todd Parsley called to check on the status of the car he also joked with me. Randy Cheadle is the type of person that Alan Mulally must be referring to when he speaks about "the new Ford".
He was extremely helpful and patient with my wife and me yesterday despite knowing that I was trying to make a decision about a company car, not a personal vehicle. He certainly knew he would not receive any commission and the dealership may well not even deliver the vehicle while he was providing assistance to us.
His approach was clearly that he felt it was important to make another sell for Ford whether or not it was "his sale". His interest was in helping me understand the great improvements Ford has made over the last few years. I truly got a sense that his interest was in selling me a Ford, not simply trying to collect a commission.
I have now decided to order a Taurus for my new company car. Please rest assured, Randy and his willingness to take the time to assist my wife and me is a major factor in the decision I made. I thanked Randy for his help yesterday. I want to thank you as well for providing the kind of leadership that helps develop team members like him. I hit a large rock in the road while traveling near Steubenville Ohio and bent my rim. I took it to Team Ford first thing Friday morning. After waiting an hour an half they said could not get part and wanted to charge me over $750 for 1 tire and rim. They also said maybe could get the part Saturday but couldn't commit to even possibly Monday. I was on vacation and supposed to be in NC by Sunday. I called Keim in Columbus. I explained my situation and they said would check and call me back. In 10 minutes called me back and found a refurbished rim at a substantial savings. I put the spare on back and drove 3 hours back to Columbus. They took me right in, then my car was fixed it @ 30-40 minutes and helped me salvage my vacation.

I worked with Barry Thompson who manages Keim's internet sales. Traded an email with him after finding an Edge matching my criteria on Autotrader.com then talked several times on the phone. Barry was very professional, didn't pressure me, and knew that I was over 60 miles away with a Ford dealership close by to my house. He worked with me and made me comfortable that the drive was worthwhile to do business with Keim. I dropped by on short notice and the vehicle was completely spotless and ready. The only waiting I had was due to me being there about an hour later than I said I was going to be so he (and then the finance person) was working with another couple, but Barry and several other people came over to check on me and you could tell it bothered them that I had to wait (again, entirely my fault). Looked like a very professionally run and staffed organization. I would definitely recommend them to others.
